Barbara Garcia, J.D., L.L.M., works with one of top franchise attorneys in the country -- Harold Kestenbaum, Esquire. Ms. Garcia works closely with Mr. Kestenbaum with such clients as, The Halal Guys and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, to name just a few. Ms. Garcia was the first corporate employee for one of the largest hamburger franchisor’s- BurgerFi International, headquarters in North Palm Beach, Florida. Barbara was Director of Legal Department and the Director of the Human Resource Department.
Ms. Garcia has more than 15 years of legal experience which include Franchise law, international Business law, corporate law, and Real Estate transactions. Ms. Garcia is currently pursuing a professional certification through The Certified Franchise Executive Program.
Ms. Garcia earned a running scholarship and was a cadet in the U.S. Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC). She earned her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in criminology and a minor in Technical Writing from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. Ms. Garcia’s formal legal training began with a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from Roger Williams School of Law in Bristol, Rhode Island. She continued her legal training and earned a L.L.M. degree in International Business Law (Master of Laws) from Stetson College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida. Ms. Garcia also completed an international and comparative law program in Tokyo, Japan through Santa Clara Law School in California.
Ms. Garcia had the unique privilege to work with the United Nations in the Office of Legal Affairs, headquartered in New York City. Her credentials also include working in the Felony Criminal Division for the United States Attorney General’s Office in Boston, Massachusetts. Ms. Garcia assisted in the representation of U.S. and foreign corporations including Starbucks Coffee company and Estee Lauder while working in Tokyo, Japan for Showa Law Firm. Ms. Garcia is Cuban-American and speaks fluent Spanish.
